DSG Gearbox fault

Hi. Any ideas please? I have a low milage (40k) one owner, T5Cali from April 2010 with DSG. The DSG has been faultless throughout with the exception of occasional ‘thump’ and jump when driving on auto at low speeds in traffic. Especially 2nd down to 1st. This solved by driving on manual. The DSG has recently had a scheduled oil change. No issues following that.
A few days ago when driving from cold a few hundred metres from home and when pulling away at a junction from stationary up a slight hill, the gearbox ‘banged’ from 1st to 2nd and the Gear Selector Number on the dash started flashing and the yellow ‘engine block’ fault light came on. I managed to reverse but the gear would not shift past 2nd either in auto or manual. I drove home in 2nd and took the Audi.
After a couple of days, I tried the van and the van drove ok and changed gear as normal on auto. The ‘engine block’ warning light is still on, however.
Any ideas please? I have tried to search the history on the site but DSG is a very popular topic? (For the record, I think that when works, the DSG box is brilliant).
Thanks

You need a Diagnostic readout and to be able to reset the Dashboard light.

This is not something I’ve seen posted before on the Forum.

Thank you for the swift reply. I have the Cali booked in Weds for a diagnostic check. Good to see I haven’t missed any posts then, thanks. I realise it is a very comprehensive database now.

hi again. Here is a Diagnostic readout for the DSG gearbox fault. Fault code is 10697 (P072C00) but these codes have been produced by a non-VW specialist transmission specialist. The DSG gearbox is functioning perfectly now and the dash warning light has been reset.
The issue is that the garage are unsure of what the code relates to. Has anyone any knowledge please?
There is a suggestion that since the gearbox had very recently had an oil change and the van was cold, attempting to set off up a steep hill from first gear, there may have been a low oil level which caused the fault. This is a guess of course. The garage are doing research to see if a more major problem exists. The Cali has 40k miles on the clock.
Any advice would be welcome thanks.
