Duvalay mattress on top of VW comfort mattress? New to me T6 Ocean

Hi, I've had the van 2 months now and slept in it 3 night but finding the VW comfort mattress that the van came with quite hard. Are people putting the Duvalay on top of the VW mattress of removing it so the Duvalay one goes straight onto the seats?

Hi. I purchased a Duvalay 5cm freshtec mattress for the same reason and found it super comfy if laid on top of the comfort mattress which came with my California.

I store it on top of the comfort mattress, in the back, folded in 3, rather than trying to get it back in the bag it came in.

We use a zonesleep ultra on top of the VW comfort mattress. Overkill perhaps, the the original mattress came with the van and we already had the zonesleep, so not prohibitively expensive. Does it ake up a bit of space on the back shelf though.

Pictures attached. When travelling I don’t store anything on top of the mattress(es), so for me the space used isn’t an issue. They sit well below the side window line.

On top of uncomfort. We roll up through the day and leave in the pop up tent we carry for day storage.

Have you tried sleeping in the roof?
Much more comfortable.
