Edinburgh service recommendations

As per title, I’m interested in recommendations for garages near Edinburgh for servicing our Cali when next due.

My default would be the local VW Commercial service centre - Clark Commercials - but I’m keen to explore whether good alternatives exist.

Witherspoon were recommended previously on this forum, but they’re no longer taking Calis/ Transporters due to lack of space in their workshop.

I use Clark Commercial and have had no problems, although I must say I had extraordinarily bad service when I initially went in to buy an Ocean, so much so, ended up going to Liverpool. That aside, they have done servicing and warranty work with no hassle at all, including picking the vehicle and delivering back or with another vehicle as an option. Basically they just got on with it and with a smile.

Clark commercials service center are still in action. I had a decent experience with them last year.

The crowd in Newbridge were about as bad as it gets when I tried to get them to do a simple warranty repair.

I am booked into Clark Commercials shop. I know that they moved the dealership to Newbridge but have had decent luck with Clarks. They charge a basic rate for showing up and diagnostics but have offered a loaner for the time for a nominal fee. I hate the thought of anyone tearing into the camper bit but have had a blown fuse on the water pump and apparently there is no power getting to the pump. Fingers crossed.

Found them to be pretty good on my recent warranty work replacing my 04S with 06S. When mine is due it’s service I will using them although Lookers in Glasgow is closer but trying to park there is a nightmare!

Many thanks, it appears servicing and sales are scant here. I saw that there was some reference to Elgin being the base dealer on new Californias. Looked at Western Volkswagon website at Newbridge and they only had one used Cali listed. I thought if they aren't selling them then they sure can't be too switched on servicing them!

When we were looking we test drove a Cali at Newbridge. Chap we spoke with on the day was helpful but I had some follow up questions and never got a response despite a few calls, not impressed. So thought the servicing may very well be the same. Ended up getting ours from Breeze in Poole who were excellent.

I can recommend John Clark in Dundee, if that’s not too far out of your way.
I’ve never had any issues with servicing or warranty work and Kyle on the service desk couldn’t be more helpful.

There's a dealer in Inverness, Hawco who I have found to be good with mine in general.

I’ve also used them for routine servicing of the van side of things with no problems and always had attentive service from the front of office team. I’m pretty sure however they did say if I needed any Campervan warranty work (as in living space equipment etc) then it would need to go to Edinburgh or Aberdeen branch.
