fan belt

when we have been in a lot of rain,the next day the fan belt screeches and then stops.I was wandering if this is normal(the van is only one year old)

Hi Fozzy,

Your Cali doesn't have a fan belt as such as the radiator fan is an electric one, but there is a belt driving the alternator, power steering pump and aircon compressor on the left end of the engine. This has to be tensioned correctly and sounds like it just needs tightening slightly.

Any competent mechanic can do this in 5 mins at minimal cost.
