Great fly-on-the-wall view of T7 production in Hannover. I had no idea T6.1 and T7's are coming off the same line.

Nice to see; Some extra explanation, just for info without wanting to be the know-it-all (feel free to correct and/or add info): the T7 is a people carrier and will never be a van. He is standing on a platform not suitable for that. He is therefore not at all the successor of the T6.1 and there will certainly not follow a California based on that one. The future true successor to the transporter will come in collaboration with Ford and will probably be made in Turkey. However, this vehicle does not yet exist and the T6.1 will continue to carry on for a while, even as a California. The ID california about which so much is being said will be based on the ID Cargo (longer wheelbase than the ID Buzz) and you should probably not expect it until the second half of this decade because that ID Cargo doesn't even exist yet. The current transporter version (& therefore also the California) is far from being retired.
