First outing in my new 6.1 California Ocean

I reckon there's more chance of longterm damage to the van by taking it to a dealer more frequently.
It always comes back with more scratches, door dings and greasy fingerprints.
On one occasion it was returned with a leaking brand new oil filter, fortunately the oil pressure light flashed up whilst I was round the corner from home in a 20mph zone and was able to stop straight away.

I'm still planning to ignore the 20K long life service intervals and maintain the 12k or 12 month timing I used on my 5.1.

I have seen a post about VW not wanting to honour the free services unless it's at 20k. Has anyone else had this issue?
Yes bought a one year old van from vw b,ham dealer which was set on long life and wouldn't service it as set on long life!
So took it to breeze and used up a free service at 12k!
Also never let dealer wash van, had it coated instead!

Reading your post I feel like I should have done much more of an apprenticeship in previous Calis rather than jumping straight into a 6.1 4Motion. Nevertheless, I keep marvelling at the van’s capability and I’ve not even slept in it yet (please don’t judge! Hangs head in shame ) Couldn’t believe the amount of kit I got in it for a family trip. I find it super comfortable compared to my T6 Caravelle and that was a limo. Being able wiggle the seats round and have a family lunch is awesome, and the hard floors make beach and forest trips a breeze. I absolutely love all the driver aids too, never had the auto follow cruise before, just brilliant!

Yes, my appointment in garage was cancelled by garage.

It is very unlikely the cupboard Doors rattle, must be something else. Probably the table, make sure to push it towards the cupboard while sliding in place.

I had a mate sit in the back and hold all the bits that it could be and it's most certainly the cupboard sliding doors.

also check the table leg, I replaced the clip that holds the leg with a cabinet magnet as shown in the attached picture; can be attached with supplied double sided tape.

I’ve also just switched from a 5.1 to a 6.1 and for the same reason.

There are indeed lots of little improvements that add up to a lot. Up front it now feels like I’m driving a car, rather than a van and I also love the new wardrobe sliding door.

However, I still hanker for a footrest for my left foot when driving and I prefer the old kitchen tap (or faucet if wannabecamperman is reading :D)
The new Multivan California has the footrest on RHD and DSG Sports Mode, at least the Hybrid has.

They shouldn't rattle. I wonder if there's something missing. Worth mentioning to Breeze?
