first trip, pure love

last summer we had the chance to travel for 2 weeks on a t4 cali for about 2 weeks. 2 children family. austria to sicily. and we enjoyed sooomuch that we now look to buy one!
our use would be mainly weekend trips between austria and italy, with one or two major trips during the year. often carrying a trailer with a small dinghy on.
I am considering a t5 ocean. not sure whether pre or after lifting. any tip to help me fine-tuning the selection?

I am wondering whether anything specific to check when I am in front of a potential bus, or any production year to be avoided?
