Hi all,

I know that you have to be careful about putting stuff on the roof bed when it is closed. However can I store the two fly screens on the bed. I only have the standard VW mattress on the bed.

No problem they are only thin. Close the roof and try pushing your hand in over the mattress there is quite a bit if room, I think its towards the back where it is tighter.

I keep the screens up there in the winter and the safety net there all the time.

Hi all,

Yes, just slip them under the mattress, so they don’t slide around.
If you open the roof hatch and put your hand up you can feel the gap, from about 1cm at the edges to almost 3+ cms in the Centre as the roof is curved upwards.

I don’t see why not, they are most certainly thin enough.

I take mine out and store in garage, they came in the drawer under the rear bench from Vw but had been shoe horned in. Also not quite sure but they may be able to fit in the wardrobe side on at a pinch.

I just slide the fly screen aside and close the window , the screen stays put in front of the other side . I only take it out when cleaning the window.
When we stop it takes 5sec to open the sliding window and push the screen in place.

I have mine in the rear door pockets within the seats..between seat base and the seat back.

For me it seems un-logic to store it outside reach from in the livingarea , when we stop for lunch or a arrive at site the first thing ( if the weather allows) is open the sliding window to get fresh air/ventilate and slide the screen ver to the side.
Can't see the point to get in the booth or open the roof to take the fly screen ...
It sits perfect in place where it's availeble in a second when needed.
Am i beeing to practical again ?

For those who have not seen it , here's the way to fit , use and store the fly screen.

HC, do you find they rattle when left in place? I would prefer to leave them there if they don’t.

I also have a spare set if anyone is looking for a pair.
