Left home the 6th(my birthday!) afther lunch , Cali was offcoarse ready to go since a few days already as we looked out for this trip.
Drove about 350km using the motorway (peage) arriving in Mutigny at a lovely free camperspot with view over the champagne vingeyards

Had a "flot bleu " facility
Took a small walk and spent a quiet night , will be using this spot more in the future!

Thank you Wim,

Sounds like you had a really great trip,

Well, I am following partly in your wheel tracks in two weeks time,

I will be in Epernay for a few days then across the border to Ypres,

Thank you for those links to camping Champagne ... I will make use of them.

Great trip report to review thanks.
You always find such great places.
The camping at a Champagne house really takes the prize and beats staying in Chalons en Champagne which although a great site, it is a really odd place IMO.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us!

Not with the California I'm afraid. That's parked at Heathrow until tomorrow.

This is really infromative and very well timed. My wife and I are heading to the Champagne Reigon in a couple of weeks and found you report very useful. I would be grateful if you could provide any more detailed information about your stay in the Cahampagne area (especially information about the Champagne Tourist Route - how long it is, how long it would take to drive it). Also any other suggestions as to where to stay. We are members of both ACSI and France Passion. Did you do any 'Wild Camping' in the area?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
