Le Mans for the Moto GP

We camped away from the circuit as my daughter had come down in her Abarth 500 so we could travel to and fro in that

Moto GP grid

Rossi

Marquez

Lorenzo on his way to win

Then on down to the Pyrenees to do a bit of decorating.
Woke up to look out the bedroom window to see fresh snow on the mountains

and over the valley avalanche debris from earlier in the year

Following weekend on to Pau about thirty miles away for the Historique weekend
Fabulous track, like a baby Monaco. 30 Euros for the weekend :bananadance

Spot the Cali

Had a long chat with the Cali guy. It's 180 manual 2wd which he uses to travel Europe for the historic series.
Pulls his early 60s Maserati engined Cooper F1 car in the trailer, hits 80 on the motorways with cruise on and absolutely loves the Cali.

Work of art

Oldest car racing, 1928 Buggatti. Brakes operated by wire cables, at leats they are on all four wheels.

Start em young at this game

Not a laptop or EGR valve in site. KISS. :thumb

Well recommended if you are even slightly interested in cars. Pau is a beautiful city and close to the Pyrenees and Lourdes.

Very nice. I got my elbow down once but didn't manage to get back up again. (The days of being young and stupid)

Cycled the Etape a few times from Pau. Lovely place but a long drive.

(Nice MGB in the picture)
