Fresh water tank pump, dog's dinner

I've made a right dog's dinner of my fresh water tank problems.

The 5 amp fuse under the passenger seat has blown twice. Replaced twice.

I finally opened the tank (after buying the expensive tool). I ordered a new pump from 'the shop'. I removed the pump and tested it and it still works.

I have cancelled the new one and now need to connect the old pump to the wiring. Silly me, cut the wires too short.

Any recommendations for connecting said wires, which will be under water.

Thank you

Bit late in the game BUT for the sake of £22 for a new pump I would buy a new one. In trying to waterproof something you are just introducing a future point of failure and it really isn’t worth the time and effort in my opinion.
I thought my old pump was fine, it continued working for a few more months then packed up. All the time and effort spent trying to nurse something on longer just to have to still do the inevitable.

Below are the two items I purchased to do the job.

I cut the old connector off and soldered it on the new pump (outside the tank) heat shrink on joints and all good with the world.

https://amzn.eu/d/0ekYN2aX - Improvised and adapted this as a tool to get tank lid off and it worked a treat. Basically as it’s adjustable you slide the arms to one end adjust to fit lid and use that way.

My pump had partially seized and when you turned tap on and watched “draw” on control panel it was obvious power to pump but it wasn’t working.

12v comet submersible pump £22, these parts are not peculiar to the California
