really excited about my 6.1 Beach being built in the coming weeks but suffering from fridge anxiety, especially not understanding the boot dimensions lol!

Show me your fridge set ups for your beach, we are a 2 adult, 2 young children family.

I’m guessing this has been done already and have looked through the forums but couldn’t be bothered reading 17 pages of Beach vs Ocean arguments!

Dometic CFX3 35 on a slide out boot tray.

Looks like a decent set up, does the CFX 35 fit fine in there and with the longer edge of the fridge against the side?
Yes, CFX 35 fits fine (will fit eitherway).

It’s a great fridge as uses very little power and you can still use full temp range when running off 12v. (whereas some others run as coolers only when not on 240v, no temp control on 12v)

Thanks thats great to know, and my last question is does the CFX 35 fit either way on the pull out tray, and if so do you have a link to where you bought it?

Yes, will fit eitherway.

They seem to have gone up in price alot. Below seems to be cheapest at the moment:

Cfx35 fitted longways

can also be placed behind drivers / passenger seat using the 12v socket on the B Pillar, secured by the D rings in the floor

I think it's important to note , before buying a fridge.....That unless things have changed, that there is a significant difference in height from the floor to multiflex board, depending on wether the Beach is a 3 seater rear bench seat ( as in all of the above photos ) or the lower height multiflex board for the 2 seater bench seat. We have the 2 seater bench seat and there isn't a lot of choice of fridge to go underneath the multiflex board.

We have a 2019 3 seat bench Beach and have an Indel TB14 fridge between the two front seats.
If you are clever with packing, you can still get quite a lot in it. You could probably get the newer 18L version as this only adds height.
Advantage is freeing up interior or rear storage space, disadvantage is that you have to lift it out to turn the seats. Pro's and con's...

I am (hopefully) getting the 3 seat beach next month, so fingers crossed the height is big enough for what i want

Good set up, i reckon i’ll get either a cfx 25 or 35. Can i ask the preference for fitting long ways, do you think a drawer would enhance your set up?

The drawer is handy as can be used as part of your camping setup. Plus if you stop off enroute it’s very easy to get food&drink in/out of the fridge even when the boot is fully packed.

Only reason against having a slider is if you plan to have a towbar mounted rack, depending on the length of the sliding tray.

Would say that CFX35 is the better option given the high cost of these units, best to have too much cold storage than not enough.

Hi Paul,

I pack differently for each trip based on various criteria,
this depends on where I put the fridge I.e in the boot space or behind the passenger/ drivers seat
for example :
length of trip / amount of gear
accessibility requirements (getting to the fridge during transit)

the CFx 35 fits perfectly in either orientation

Do I think a drawer would enhance my set up : Sometimes not always.

try and have a look at the difference in Size (internally ) between the 25/ 35 models, so You fully understand the internal / external space configuration/ differences.

A compressor fridge / freezer is a true game changer, it would be No1 on my accessories list for any Beach.

couple of other shots with the fridge in use (different length trips)
behind the passenger seat works well for transiting / days out etc, fridge will fit under the table when the table is in the van !
downstairs bed can be made up with the fridge behind the passenger/ driver seat

CFX-40 on a tray under the 3 seater mfb...."And They Said It Couldn't Be Done"

LOTS of measuring but eventually just bought the fridge! Slide the mfb forward a few cm to allow room for fridge to fit between the closed tailgate the rod under the mfb... Remove pointless clip from under mfb [and have now removed rod]...
