Front grill on T6

Just got my T6 California back from body shop after hitting a deer, the standard of repair hasn’t been great (insurance) and it’s booked back in tomorrow after me only having it back 1 week.
Issues so far
1- passenger door won’t open from inside, it did after accident
2. Passenger window will not close automatically as they have taken trim away from mirror and not fitted back correctly
3. Failed to clip wiring loom in place for ACC and it fell out below under tray
4. I don’t think they have supplied factor grills or fitted correctly as there seems quiet a lot of movement. This is where one of you will hopefully help, is there much flex in upper grill below the headlight and also the lower grill around the ACC sensor? I have a short video but seems can only add videos here.

Hard to tell from your picture angle. Do you have the plastic ring around the sensor fitted, as I see some metal shining on the underside of the sensor.

You definately need the surrounding cover.
Maybe someone with a T6 can clear this out for you?

I’m thinking it’s possibly upside down and that is why wiring loom not clipped in as it’s been routed the wrong way?

Would be interested to know what insurance company you have. I had no issue with ours and allowed me to decide where it went for repair a few years ago. Always good to know how a company turns out after a claim

Your lower grill is missing the chrome trim as well

If it has then it needs to be recalibrated to function correctly and only VW can do that, so I gather.

I thought that as well. Didn't realise the T6 had ACC.
I viewed a T6 that had that sensor by the dealer said it was for the emergency city braking function.

ACC was an option on the T6. All the later ones have the sensor anyway for emergency city braking.

It is on the Transporter vans as ACC is an Optional Extra, but City Braking is standard on some models.
Lots of threads on the T6 forum about retro fitting ACC to vehicles with City Braking.

ACC had been around on VW vehicles for years and not just invented for the T6.1. I have it by choice on my T6.

Re item 4. - to fit the front grill properly the whole front bumper has to be removed. Did they do that or have they bodged it to save time?

Turns out they didn’t attach the divider between battery and engine bay which gets attached to top of grill. They had the cover for the ACC but forgot to fit, they have now correctly attached the loom and air temp sensor. The manager apologised but I said forgetting to put the cover on ACC is something you apologise for, but the rest is down to poor workmanship.

And poor management. Why wasn't a thorough check made prior to releasing it?

Did they recalibrate the ACC and City Braking Radar?

Sadly this sort of service isn't uncommon.

An uninsured young lady driver once T boned a new Passat Estate that I owned. The damage was extensive. When I went to pick it up after a lengthy period in the repair shop. The manager said " Just sign here, your car's out there in the yard" to which I replied "No. It doesn't work like that". I told him that I will be inspecting the car before signing anything.

After about three quarters of an hour he came to find me. He said "the guys in the workshop are highly amused at your inspection". He wasn't quite so amused when I rejected the vehicle and presented him with a very lengthy list of items ranging from broken trim and scratched glass through to a filthy headlining and mis aligned panels. I refused to hand back the keys to their loan car and told them not to contact me again until they had done the job properly. I also notified my insurance company of my findings and action. It took another three weeks before I got the car back. I then sold it.
