Gas smell query

Hello. Took van out for first trip. Experienced smell of gas in the cupboard (but cannot smell when cupboard shut). Just wondering if anyone else experienced this? I have disconnected and reconnected hoses and tightened as far as possible so need to check out whether this has worked.

I’d be very careful if it’s a new van, there’s an urgent recall notice out for a lot of 2024 GCs at the moment as the gas system wasn’t properly tested at the factory. The recall letter advises that you should disconnect the system immediately and not use it again until it’s been tested.

From memory it affects vans produced between like February and August this year, it was a surprisingly wide timespan. Might be worth giving your dealer a call if it’s a 2024 van and not using the gas in the meantime.

Thank you. Mine is 2022. Bought it from JCT600 but it had not been used before, ie display van, although should have gone through checks.
