Harvey, our 680, went back to VW Commercial Service here in Aberdeen, a year after his delivery to get a replacement fridge as the original, like so many others, had insisted on cooling to an “Arctic” temperature level.
With the new unit installed, the fault remained. Was it MY fault (surely not…), because I hadn’t understood the operating instructions?
The original unit didn’t have a freezer drip tray installed, which (if pushed fully rearwards to abut the rear wall) should act as a seal for the freezer, allowing the fridge to regulate correctly.
On the replacement unit, I hadn’t pushed the tray fully rearwards because:
a. I hadn’t realised it was an integral piece of the cooling system and
b. I had no idea it was there.
Also: Totally recommend “Rowntree’s Fruit Pastilles Lollies” at only 55 calories a pop. Or a mere 220 calories if one were to “horse” all four in the box during the twenty minute drive home with the groceries, if one wanted to keep it a secret from one’s husband, for instance.
