I think this is a new issue. I plugged the GC into the mains, and the fridge started working without me doing anything. Now, I can't switch it off.
I turned off the red main power for a couple of hours and then turned it back on, but now the fridge is stuck in the 'on' position. Does anyone know if there's an easy solution or where the fuse for the fridge is located?

I disconnected the 15A fuse, the second one from the right. It's not very practical to use this method to turn the fridge on and off.

Hi Gabriel
On the front of the fridge, the button located on the left is used to turn on or off the refrigerator
The next one is used to select the cold power (1 to 5, then back to 1)
After the selection, the leds return to lighting mode (5 Leds on)
The button on the right is used to select the silent night mode (blue moon led) or normal mode

Hi Norbard.
The on/off button is not responding. The fridge have been working perfectly, but lately I had to keep the on/off button pressed for long time before turning off the fridge.
Now it's not working.
I wonder if there is some resetting option pressing several buttons at the same time or pressing a reset button somewhere.

Ok Gabriel
I don’t know if there is an option for this reinitialization...
Maybe by switching off the battery for a while? (Red battery switch on electrical cabinet)

I tried that one. No luck. Thanks anyway

I fixed the problem.
The small circuit board panel behind the on/off button had come away from the assembly/ location pins, just enough that when pressing the button on the front panel, it wasn't touching the push switch on the circuit board behind it.
I opened it up and pushed it back into position. However, the circuit board has a lot of clearance over the mounting pins, so it will move easily if someone presses the on/off button with too much pressure. I will open again one of this days an apply some Loctite to make it wife proof.

Thanks for the info, how do you get to this board.

Simply pull down the three white pins located under the stainless steel cover (as shown in the picture) using a blade, then manually pull the metal cover forward.

The board is mounted on two plastic pins, which are assembled from the inside of the stainless steel cover. These pins have a slight increase in diameter to keep the board in place. However, in my case, there was too much clearance.

There is enough cable on the board to handle the parts comfortably and push the board back into position.

To reassemble, just slide the stainless steel cover to align the 3 holes and press the white pins back into place. It's a five-minute job once you know what to do.

In my case, the on/off button wasn't working because the board had shifted back on the left side location pin , just behind the on/off button. However, if the board moves on the other side or both sides at the same time, it's possible that any or all of the other buttons may not work.
I will call tomorrow to my VW dealer to remove this specific issue from the to do list, as the technician didn't know what to do.
If the VW technician is not comfortable disassembling parts of the fridge, they will probably opt for a full fridge replacement.

Thanks for posting this to the group, it should help other in the future.

Did you try with the RHU still connected?

I've had issues resetting when on EHU. Disconnected the EHU cable then Big Red switch off/on, and all was sorted.

Thanks, Alan. The problem is sorted now. See the posts above.
