Grand California water problem

There is a recall for the third brake light seal replacement. I had it done yesterday at my local Volkswagen dealer at no charge. I am out of warranty.

If your GC is still under warranty it is a warranty fix. There is a VW TPI describing the issue & fix.

I had the 3rd light sealed by me using aluminium tape, a couple of weeks ago it was "fix" under vw instructions by my local vw dealer. Unfortunately I have water leaks again.

Seems an odd fix and not inline with the official TPI. This is the UK one.

Thanks reimajarvinen. After a detailed checking on the seal of my GC I found 2 places with detachment between the silicone and the hard roof. Very dificult to see with the black silicone, but I could push a credit card on the gap. I have an appointment on my vw garage for another unrelated issue the 9th of January. Will see if I get something done. I am out of warranty.At the moment. I cover the areas with tape.
