Thank you Vwcaliforniaclub

Like you I am interested to know who bought one and still has it.
When cheking the XLS in the FB group you made there are no takers. :-D

I “think” I may have one….
It doesn’t have any stickers on to say it is, but the light in the sliding door step had EDITION rather than CALIFORNIA written on it.
If I go into my VW App, Settings, Service Packages, Equipment Details I see “EDITION” listed as per attached.
So not sure if this is the Edition you are on about or something different.

It could. But it most likely is the weird “Edition” trim that was sold in different markets at different times.

In Ireland for exemple, the T6.1 was available under the Beach, Coast, Ocean and Edition trims. The Edition was an Ocean fitted with a bunch of seemingly random and unrelated options as standard (shower attachment, storage net, 18’’ wheels, etc), a sticker on the side of the van saying “EDITION” and a very limited choice of colours (you couldn’t order them in two-tone for example).

In other markets, you could buy “Edition” trims of the Beach or Coast as well. Same idea: a bunch of random options added as standard and a sticker.

But do Google the 30 year edition and see if it matches the one you have. It was a T6 IIRC.

If it’s a UK Beach or Ocean Edition (not the 30 years edition, it’s different), I believe they only came in white. Around 40 of each were imported to UK.

The UK Beach Edition spec was particularly strange - 3 zone climatronic and LED lights (both great) but no diesel heater (why?!)

The way to confirm whether/ which Edition you have:

1. The ‘regular’ Edition has a large black section on the roof and cowl, and black wing mirrors. Example:

2. The 30 years Edition has either an Indium Grey or Reflex Silver contrast roof and cowl (the whole roof and cowl is this contrast colour, not just a section as is the case for the ‘regular’ Edition above) and matching contrast wing mirrors. As well as the 30years badge on the driver and passenger doors. Brochure attached. Example photo:

Ok, I’m thinking maybe I don’t have one then

Well I have a shower and storage net, but not 18" wheels. And as mentioned, no sticker. Intriguing....

I'm Ascot Gray so looking less likely, to be either the Special Edition or this other type of Edition. So confused why it has it in the spec.
And yes, why make a leisure without a heater - ridiculous.

Thanks Camperfamily.....
Well mine is 100% NOTHING like those for sure, and the spec in the brochure you attached doesn't match either so that just leaves me more baffled as to why the sliding door light has EDITION and the spec in the App shows it listed.

My MY2023 Ocean 4motion has “Edition” under vehicle specification in the My Volkswagen app (as below), like post #3, but has none of the black trims @Camperfamily describes, or 30 years trim, nor have I ever thought or heard it to be “Edition”.

I am travelling all across Europe currently, and often see those black roofs on some recent California’s (wondering if they were a new very thin solar).
