How do you pack your clothes? (without window bags)

As the title says, we don't as yet have the budget for window bags, so wondered if there was a tried and tested way of packing clothes in a Beach (we're getting the 3 bench version)?

At the moment the plan was to get plastic storage boxes to go under the shelf to house all the camping bits, and then maybe just duffle bags for clothes to sit on top of the shelf along with the bedding. Would that work ok? Or will putting clothes into the storage boxes be worth looking at?

Thanks!

Ikea skubb shoe boxes.

£7 for 4, velcro openings, easy to stack as have some structure but light/ no wasted space.

Great for the t shirt, short, socks, rolled up jeans etc type size clothes. Easy to sort. Different colours for each person.

We put our packing cubes into larger Skubb with the hard plastic taken out so they become squishy, fits in the locker when laid flat ..

Time to update your profile with “Beach” loud and proud :thumb

Tip, take half the clothes you think you’ll use ( summer) were a fam of 4, we have two packing cubes per person for our entire clothes for a two week trip, coats and shoes are extra.
Remember you can wash gear out.
Choose technical clothing such a fleece, shorts and cotton Ts etc.

Your camping, it’s not a fashion parade ( as my mum used to say).

It takes a mind set change to pack effectively for all scenarios, but pack light.
If you are really stuck, you can always buy some clothes. You’ll probably surprise yourself how little you actually need

We use packing cubes, a different coloured set each (they go in our Vanessa window bag)

We have a scrubba bag for washing clothes. Packs to nothing and very effective for washing and rinsing. Can be used as a dry sac and for transporting wet stuff. Seems quite expensive (about £40) but well worth it for long trips. Very robust and well made. Good for at home too if you only have a few bits to do and for delicates & small items that you might not want to put in a machine. F5258225-E7DC-475F-9245-32B457FECC27.jpeg

Perfectos has hit the nail on the head, it's surprising how little you will need especially if the weather is good for drying stuff youv'e washed.

Packing cubes for us in different colours.

haha I would if I had it yet! Couple of cosmetic bits needed doing and which has taken a bloody age to get done! Dealer is being attentive in making sure it's all being done properly but man it's painful waiting for it!

Seems like the packing cubes/bags are the way to go, I'll look at either the Ikea or Amazon ones. Where do you stack them? On top of the shelf with the bedding?

Yes they are the large ones. We have experienced that 1 large cube can hold more than enough clothes for a long weekend of camping. Perhaps even for a week, depending on your preferences. We ordered sets of 4 large ones for every family member, but in reality each family member just uses a single packing cube. We'll keep a second one for long trips/spares, but will sell the unused 4x2 large ones. It's just that they sold them in packs of 4. They fit perfectly in the large closet or the under the bench-drawer of an ocean and the quality is just fine.

We use the mixed set (large, medium and two small) means trousers, tops socks and pants get a separate packing cube for each. Allows for items to be found quickly without lots of rummaging though a large one

Yep mixed sets works well for us

We both live out of a 40lt duffle bag, if it don't fit in the bag it ain't coming, winter stuff stays in the side wardrobe, bags on the rear bed, under the bed overhang when in sleep mode, you don't need all the stuff most take, my mother taught me when a sprog in the 60's in the splity, she would only let us take 3 of each.
