I disconnected the main battery yesterday to do some work on the Calli however since connecting it back up again, Calli is complaining that it’s in off-line mode and I can’t connect it with the phone app. It says to go to the entertainment system and take it back online but I can’t see where to do that. Any help or advice would be welcomed.

TIA

Did you get this sorted?
Just hit the same issue here.... on the first day of ownership!!
Worked as we drove from the dealer, but got home and after about an hour the App is showing "YOUR VEHICLE IS IN OFLINE MODE"
Hit the "i" button and says to set vehicle in online mode in the infotainment system. Buggared if i can find it ‍♂️

I did get it working I think I went I on line area I am away from the camper but will check when I get back next week

Try signing out of everything and then back again

Thank you, that would be great if you could confirm.
I may have figure it out but want to make sure (A) it’s right, and (B) I’m not missing out on something.
I went into the infotainment system settings, I turned off WiFi (use infotainment as hotspot) and reactivated the e-sim.
I seem to now be able to connect via the App.
So I’m guessing the e-sim is what does all the talking to your phone.
Just a bit confused as to what using the infotainment system as hotspot is about - ie the benefits!
Coming from a Volvo that had an e-sim for the app, as well as an EE sim to use the car as a hotspot, both active all the time that all seemed simple.
Seems using the VW infotainment system as the hotspot disconnects the e-sim. Bizarre.

Yup. That’s correct. If you are in Wifi mode the Van is unable to connect to the mobile network. You basically have a phone under the seat in an eSIM module. That module connects to the SOS button, OTA updates and connects to the VW servers to be able to use the Volkswagen App. Not sure what your plan is but using as a hotspot used to require a mobile deal with VW that were silly prices. As such we have just used phones and our eSIM in the dash cam and both work absolutely fine.

Thanks Dave,
I've had another read of the manual, and still not 100% clear on what its doing so a little experimentation needed.
I think having an e-sim is similar to the Volvo - it talks to the app and allows us to see and do certain things (locking etc)
The EE Sim in the Volvo allowed us to have a WIFI hotspot to connect to for streaming music etc - but it didn't impact the e-sim when using.
The VW setup is clearly different - you cant have both.

Then to add to that, I have the WIFI/Bluetooth button which connects to the California App, but if your phone is connected to the infotainment system, you can't connect to that. Seems poorly executed from what I have been used to, but i'll get there.
