My Cali has iPod connection (fitted from new by previous owner) and I cannot get any response from the aux socket. VW dealer says that the aux becomes redundant when the iPod connection is fitted.
Since my warrantee runs out next month I thought I would check whether this is normal. Any advice?

...What kind of iPod connection do you have ?

In my 2013 Cali, I have the MEDIA-IN option, also in the glove box. You can plug a cable to plug an iDevice, or plug a cable to connect a USB key. This MEDIA-IN is fully controlled by the RCD-310 and the steering wheel controls. I also have a AUX (jack) connection, also in the glove box and it can also be used for an iPhone but you loose the ability to control anything (except the volume). Both connections are working (but not simultaneously).

I have got the same problem, I have an i pod connection in my glovebox which plays through the stereo via the CD button, the CD auto changer is now redundant and the AUX button is redundant, so seems to be the norm. :?
