Hi
I am currently almost there on a GC680 brand new but old model from Germany. Going through the import process and I currently have two potential stumbling blocks. I know the new model would solve both but the new one is out of my budget. Hope you can help.
1. The vehicle has LED lights with the “light assist” package. Are these flat beam profile or right dipping profile?
2. I need to get the dash to display MPH. Is one of the settings for the screen in between the two dials MPH? Is it possible to replace the speedo dial? Anyone know of another solution?
Cheers
Phil

Point 1. LED's are flat beam so nothing to change.
Point 2. You can probably switch from kph to mph using Carista. Switching dials is not necessary, especially for a digital dash cluster.

It’s this set of clocks, sorry for the poor photo just taken from google
What is Carisa?IMG_4101.jpeg

Looks like the regular analog cluster with the digital centre section. That cluster will need replacement if you want it registered in the UK.

I would very carefully check the headlamp topic. Whilst almost all LED headlamps are designed to be acceptable to be used in other hand of drive markets, this is meant for occasional use. (They have formal markings and a specific test they have to meet to allow this).

However most lamps still have a base pattern that is biased towards the native hand of drive that the vehicle is sold in, so whilst they can be used abroad they are not optimal. It is not uncommon for vehicles being imported to have lamps swapped to the correct hand of drive before they will be allowed in as permanent imports as the lamps aren't optimised for their new location. I would check with the DVLA if they will accept the lamps as they are, this will be a very common question.

I imported my GC600 from Germany, and here in Ireland, I didn't have any problems with the LED lights passing the NCT for vehicle registration. However, I did have issues years ago when importing a T4 California from Germany (no LED)

I’m seem to recall someone on here recently imported a Californa Ocean into the Channel Islands and had this exact issue registering it there and had to replace the complete light units.
