Integral awning

I'm trying out the attached Cali awning for the first time.
The instruction book says gently pull down the legs from their folded position.
Mine seem to be fixed very firmly, is there a catch?
Seems to be a piece of plastic holding the together.

The two legs meet in the middle of the housing, they are sprung into it. If you look in the centre you will see both legs meeting get hold of one of the legs at the end and pull back towards the end and it should release then fold out and do the same with the other. When you come to put it away it's in the reverse
