We’re thinking of going to Ireland next week….. does anyone have any recommendations for which travel guide to take please? We have used Rough Guides and Lonely Planet for most other European countries and quite like them but sometimes they are just a little ‘too cool for school’.

We like visiting historic monuments, National parks, mountains, coastlines and beaches, in fact anything off the beaten track. We’re both quite fit and like to walk particularly. Regional foods and drinks are always on our list.

Any advice welcomed, thanks :thumb

If you like a good walk, do the Coomloughra Horseshoe in Mcgillycuddy’s Reeks. Just 12km long, but could take as many hours.

It is probably the best and quietest route up Carrauntoohil, Ireland’s highest mountain, and takes in Ireland 2nd and 3rd highest peaks too.

Thanks team :)

I’ve also found a few websites that look good too:

There are of course loads out there but I need to limit information overload :D
