Just posting this as a last resort see if anyone has any ideas, I have a jingle sound coming from the nearside front when I hit 30mph, initially I thought it was a loose wheelnut but it's not that just sounds like it, i asked VW to take a look when in for service but they couldn't find anything loose or out of place, it only happens when I get to over 30mph which makes me think it's maybe wind related or something on the driveshaft flapping about, I've looked everywhere I can but I can't see anything, it's been there since I got the van 4 years ago and hasn't got any worse and doesn't affect the driving it just drives me a bit mad sometimes and not knowing what it is,, it's not very audible when the windows are closed but I'd really like to find what it is, it's not easy to get a good recording either because of wind noise but managed to get a little video, any help would be greatly appreciated.

It could well be wind related. How long have you had the Wind Deflectors?

@Beltram , it seems to be wind deflector related. Can you try one thing - if you have some masking tape, please apply it around the border of the wind deflectors where it is attached to the body ... especially the corner behind the rear view mirrors and see if that makes a difference?

Also, are these deflectors stuck on to the body? If yes, did you use one single piece of tape and that there is no gap between two tape sections where it is stuck to the body

Check the door mirror. I had a loose cover that whistled!

My thoughts as well, but noise present for 4 yrs, deflectors only 1 Yr.
Only had them a year or so
Check all the trim at the front , as above mirror covers, radiator grill etc and the plastic scuttle grill between windscreen and bonnet.

Thanks for all the suggestions I've checked and it's none of the above, the noise seems to be coming from further down towards the front wheel area or underneath the van on that side, the mystery continues.

Stone trapped against brake disc?

Stone trapped against brake disc?
Last time I helped someone locate a noise that sounded like a stone in the brake disc it turned out their wheel nuts had worked loose and the moving wheel was allowing the disc to move slightly and rubbing on the breaks intermittently. I assume in this case though, if it's been checked at the garage and it's been going on for ages this isn't a possibility ?

Thanks Steve it really does sound like a loose wheel nut but it's definitely not that as I've had different wheels on for the last 2 years and recently put the originals back on and it still makes the noise.

Cheers @WelshGas its definitely not the mirrors or grill as I changed both them for black ones and still had the noise I will check that scuttle grill though
