Interesting how our Cali responded to a flat battery in the key fob this morning. (4years old) Out for a walk today locked the van on the key fob – no luck had to lock with the key but the rear lights stayed on had to turn off at the switch - the automatic lights were I then had an issue with my mobile which I could not use ringing a number worked - but once the person I was ringing picked up but could not hear me and I could not hear them – the only way my phone would work was turn the Bluetooth off! Returning to the van the media headset was still on. Normally it turns off as you remove the keys. Returning home changed the battery all worked fine. Thought I would post as it may be of help to others.

When I had a Merc every 2 years they changed the battery in the fob. A simple job anyone can do but probably cost me £20. Asked why every 2 years and they just said it was to be on the safe side...Needless to say at the next service I declined the key fog battery change..

£1.80 for 2 on line
