Anyone got any feedback on a Khyam Camper Cosi [roof cover] .... looks new from Campervantastic.

Re: Roof canvas protector

Hi Malcolm
The kyham camper cosy is a copy of the vanorak. Although I believe it has had a few alterations
To the way it attaches the awning side of the Cali.we are still waiting for someone who has got one to
Enlighten us to its quality. But kyham do make good quality tents so I wouldn't expect anything else.

i have just ordered one using a 10% discount code so cost £187 with Delivery, once i get will let you guys know what its like and take some pictures.

Mark

Hmm.... that might be handy. I am a member of that forum as it served as part of my route to here when I was looking at conversions!!

Quick update on Khyam Cosi as received yesterday and tried fitting last night. First impressions seems well made and relatively easy to fit on my own. The clips that attach to the fitted awning seem to work but have to be made very short!

I am away this weekend in peak district so will try and take some pictures and do proper review shortly.

We'll be up near Mam Tor at the weekend. If you see a silver one with us in it, it's us...
:D

Love mam tor and edale still my favourite areas in the peaks. We are a fresco green Cali so give us a wave if we cross tracks :)

How was it? And where do you store it when it is down? I have just read about the Muntze that stores along side the chairs in the tail gate.

We never made it. We were defeated by cars abandoned in the snow just west of Chesterfield!

Must say when we set off on Friday night from Stamford the weather was looking bit grim, by time we reached edge of peak district i notice snow on the floor!!! We were staying in site close to Buxton and we were really shocked to find around an 1" of snow at camp site (must say california handled great not issues at all). We decided against driving into field and asked if we could camp at side of a barn.

So getting onto main subject the Khyam Cosi:

First impressions seems good quality and well made, the bag it comes in could be better as the lid folds over which is hard when the cosi is back in the bag. It took around 10 mins for me to fit but this will reduce with experience no doubt!

The passenger side slides into the existing rail on the california and fits nicely, and once raised seems good fit around roof etc. The rear and two front scraps on the fixed awning side slide into the rail and the middle three can be fitted with either Velcro (which is supplied) or using metal hooks which I used. The rear has two long straps that either go through bike rack or inside rear tailgate.

Only issue I had were the straps with the metal hooks needed to be very short and they are hard to get tight. That said all works fine and no flapping or issues over the two night we stayed.

I will try and work out how to post pictures I took on the Sat night there is still some snow on the ground but we were very cosy at night and kids sleep in roof were too hot Sat night as left heating on all night!

As for Peak District had beautiful day on the Sat and did 6 mile walk along The Roaches and surrounding area. :D

We were gutted but we were quite late getting up there due to traffic an the snow was still coming down. There were a lot of cars abandoned. The Cali was fine to drive but the temperature was falling fast and fog was also setting in... I was more worried about someone hitting us!

We ended up sending the weekend near Princethorpe in a brilliant CL called Eriba Glade!

Thanks for the review Mark, I know there is alot of interest in the camper cosi, If you have trouble uploading the photo's please email them to me and I will add them to the post for you.

thats all the pictures i have any questions let me know but will say for the money very worth while and certainly glad we had this last weekend.

Thanks Mark, looks good, just a shame they have put that logo on the front.
