I bought one of these last year. Very happy with the little Kamado. Never thought about putting the heavy thing in the Cali though.Just used it around the 2nd home in the UK.

The BBQ pizza oven work very well, we use it at home with Gas and camping with our charcoal BBQ.
The kids love it (and the big kids), nothing like home made pizza, we sometimes make the base some times use pre made bases, but you could use pre made pizza.

I have not done thick crust pizza, but I can confirm thin crust is fine.
I will have to try deep pan base.

The metal enclosure keeps the heat in and the pizza stone cook the base.
It has a temperature gauge to let you know when to cook or if it is too hot.

I don’t have the Lidl one but very similar, I would buy again.

You could simply use a pizza stone on a BBQ and use the lid to retain the heat.
