Can anyone confirm exactly what it says on your V5 with regards to vehicle description?

Should it say "California" or "Model Variant"?

Also, should it detail the power output?

I recently enquire about a late T4 and the details seemed sketchy.

Ah I was referring specifically to T4s as they're all imported and therefore have the V5 created from the original documents from Getmany.

Interesting though that it does actually list the correct model

Do you mean the stuff under 'part 4', "vehicle detaiks"?
If so:
D1 Make = Volkswagen
D2 Type = left blank, variant = blank, version = blank
D3 Model = blank (do you detect a theme emerging?)
D5 Body Type = Motor Caravan
X = Private / Light goods

I don't think there is any doubt my van is 'right' (Deepcar imported it 2001, I've met an exact duplicate registered only a few digits different on its original plate, the service book factory sticker all tallies and shows "california exclul1", who would try and fake one of these?) so it goes to prove how much detail can be lost when an imported vehicle is registered in the UK.
