As requested some pics from 5 weeks touring down through the western Italian (Piedmont) Alps. If your joy is stunning panoramic views, no people, no noise, no signal then this is very much for you. Most of this trip was off road following old world war tracks very high up through the mountains. No camp sites, Stop where you want. In fact so many perfect stops it's hard to choose! Took over a thousand pictures. Here is a few...

awesome. looking at Switzerland and austria in summer. now I'm changing my mind

One of the best things about Italy is thats its legal to go up all these tracks. It's bliss if you want to get away from it all.

but why isn't the roof up in any of the pics?edit. amazing pics

ha. That's better. I do think I'm only camping when the roof is up. when it's down i feel guilty parking there

Why sleep in a tent when you have a double glazed mini penthouse. :)

With great heating, music, a fridge and coffee at hand.. oh and an easy escape for a pee in the night..

Fantastic pics .. v jealous and love your dog!

Thank you. He is a great traveling companion. Though a little too keen on the Marmots... long story..

That sounds like my kind of holiday. Looks effing epic!

It was gob smackingly beautiful. You do have to take a little risk every now and then by driving beyond the “best not pass this sign because the track is challenging" or "off road vehicles only" signs as these often lead to the best places.

But I feel these signs are just a ploy to discourage the peak time masses from clogging up the very few places to pass tracks.
