Some of you will meet Loz Jr (Chris) this coming weekend at the Slimbridge meet.
Well Chris and his cousin Aleatha have decided to do a charity paddle from Sharpness to Gloucester on the canal on the 28th April (this month).

As some of you know he has had open heart surgery as a baby and more recently had 2 large rods and 16 screws in his back to correct an ongoing curvature of the spine that was making life unpleasant for him.

Despite all this he has been a long term crew member of the SARA inshore lifeboat.
Following his back surgery SARA's liability insurers were not happy with him going out on the rescue boat so he is now only shore based.
To improve his back strength he took up Stand Up Paddle boarding and has now undertaken to do a charity paddle the length of the Sharpness to Gloucester Canal.

He is good friends with the Tri Force police dogs team and has decided to do this paddle for their charity WAGs for retired police dogs.

Courageous and inspiring. :thumb

Look forward to meeting him.
Are you bringing the paddle board with you?

Many thanks to everyone who supported Chris and Alethea on their sponsored paddle yesterday for WAGS retired police dogs.
They set off just after 8am following a live interview for radio Gloucestershire;

It took them 6 hours plus another hours of stops for food and drink.

Quite a few must have heard them on the radio as there were well wishers at most of the bridges.

Well done Chris!
