The mattress topper - WELLPUR GOLD T30 Mattress Topper 135cm x 190cm x 4.5cm deep. Perfect- and it easily folds up and stores behind the rear seat. I use a queens size duvet, with half underneath and half over. No need for any additional sheets or blankets. If a little cold during the night, leave the roof up and pull down the top bed to close off the cabin for perfect comfort.

When you say that it’s perfect can I ask if you’d tried any other toppers before? We are looking for a good topper and we’re confused with so many on the market! I’m using a 2cm topper from Dunelm just now but I’m still feeling the hard ridge where the seat meets the back shelf. I need something that gives excellent padding!

We use a vango Self inflatable California mattress (£90) and then a zonesleep mattress pad followed by a silent night airmax topper. Makes it’s all very comfy. As we don’t use the VW comfort (or not VW comfortable mattress) all the above go on the seat and back rack. When not in use it all folds into 3 and takes up not very much room on the back shelf. Also means we can set the bed up in a few seconds, just pull it all forward and open the mattress values for a few seconds. Done. We tried quite a few things before coming to this solution. It’s very comfy

Forgot to say the silent night airmax just adds that extra luxury cherry on the cake, if camping in Europe in a heat wave, we would just use the zonesleep as it’s very cool in hot weather due to its air structure below and not being foam. In UK night temps the airmax makes its very cosy. The issue with foam toppers Is that when it gets hot they are very hot, don’t cool down and can make you sweat, hence why we choose the combination of zonesleep and airmax
