MFD2 (mfd-2) Navigation system & it's DVD

Hi all,

I have a MFD-2 built in navigation system in my T5. It's the type that has 1 dvd + a 6 cd changer.
My nav DVD is from 2005, so needs replacement.

I'm having trouble burning a new version though. The file type is .mdf, and looks like the right DVD. I've burnt 2 DVD's already using my Mac (Yosemite) + Titanium Toast as the burning program.
But the nav system tells me it's not a "valid disc"

Does anyone have any experience how to do this right?

Oh, and how do I upgrade the firmware, if that needs an upgrade?
 
Try using another make of dvd & burn at the slowest speed possible. I always use image burn on windows, which is a pain for me as I normally use linux.

Would you recommend any?
I've used Philips DVD+R DL

Would you (or anyone else) know if DVD-R or DVD+R might have anything to do with it?
Mainly on the side of the nav system, since most computers (including my own) can read and write both.
