Mid life crisis Cali Swamper!

That’s not good! I haven’t had the same issue on mine (yet) but I shall keep an eye on them.

As they are mostly 3D printed I’d have thought they would have used stainless steel hardware given the price.
Just got a nice response from them:

Hi XXXX,

I'm glad to hear that you love the awning supports! I'm sorry about the issue with the bolts. Initially, the products we sold did not come with stainless steel bolts. However, we are now making some changes, and we have new stainless steel bolts available.

We’d be happy to send you a pair for free so you can try them out and let us know your thoughts. Just confirm if the following address is correct:

That’s good news, nice to see good customer service! Mine haven’t rusted at all and have nyloc nuts fitted whereas yours don’t appear to which is odd as I think I bought mine before you?

A little trip to see Charlie at Elite Wheels in Reading today. Brilliant service, and Seymour is now fitted with 17" satin black OZ Rally Raids with 235 Falken Wildpeaks. They fill the arches nicely, even on stock suspension - no road noise and they roll lovely. No issues with ACC and speedo is now within 1mph of sat nav.

Hi there, fab van, we have ascot grey and are thinking of same wheels/tyres. Are these ok for clearance to picnic table in sliding door ?

Yep! I bought them based on your recommendation!

A "swamped' multivan. Looks less like a people carrier but the proportions still a little bit off imo.

I agree, it looks slightly comical.

View attachment 124511View attachment 124512View attachment 124513Really pleased with my choice. And I don’t think I’ll be messing with the suspension either. The 235/65/17’s fill the wheel arches nicely with no rubbing. Speedo about right at 30mph, 1mph under at 50mph and 2mph under at 70mph (assuming Waze is accurate). Ride is excellent with no discernible increase in road noise. Will have to do a decent run to see how the mpg stacks up. Just need to remember I’ll be over 2m now!
Hi there, fantastic van !, we have an ascot grey too and looking to go for 17" swamper wheels n. tyres similar to you. Having had a while to assess their performance now would you still recommend this combo ?, any issues to be aware of ? cheers

I would definitely recommend this combo. Really impressed with the tyres. Good grip on road in all conditions, great on muddy fields, no discernible increase in road noise, look great. The alloys also look great and I’m glad I went for matte as they look a little more stealth. And they definitely stopped me messing with the suspension. Fill the wheel arches nicely

Hi Grigio, thanks for the reply I have a question for you, how close is the rear of the drivers side rear tyre to the wheel arch liner (see photo), on my van there is a "bump" on the liner which is already quite close to the tyre so must be VERY close with the 235 65 17 tyres ?, any chance of a photo ?

Less than a fingers width. I’ll take a photo when it’s light

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply, I was just about to make a purchase then noticed the tight area on the rear and thought there's not gonna be much clearance there with the new tyres, Im guessing even with the tight clearance you've not had any issues ?, looking forward to seeing the photo, cheers.

I’ve had these tires for over a year. I off-road often and drive in deep snow. Never an issue. Suspension goes up and down. Not back to front.

Hi Webbah, I get the direction of travel of suspension and i’m probably being over cautious but i’m guessing it’s not quite that simple. Angles of Suspension linkages & struts and play in bushes along with tyre deformation under load will all contribute to variation in the clearance to a degree.

What I can tell you is this size is fully homologated in Switzerland. And my van is almost always driving with 3.2-3.5 tons of weight (Club Joker based on T6.1). Never had any issues. That said, with BFG KO2’s you’d need to go with 225’s instead of 235’s in 17 inch due to the tire design and sidewalls. But for Falken Wildpeaks this is the size to get.

Agreed. The only scenario which might be troublesome is soft clay as AT tyres do tend to pack out in mud. Unlikely to be an issue many will encounter though!

Hi Grigio,

sorry to be a pain, but don’t suppose you could post a pic of the clearence ? cheers

Here you go.
