Saying hello to you all and introducing our new Cali; an idea we've talked about for many years and for all sensible reasons have kicked into the long grass. Oddly, we then end up buying one in the space of almost a few weeks. Meanwhile all the sensible reasons for not buying one remain... it'll live outside on the London streets, we still need a second London car, we won't use it enough, etc, etc. But having driven a few hundred very relaxed miles, seen what's over the hedges that the car drivers don't see and done one single fabulous, warm, comfortable, corned beef hash and red wine fuelled overnight stay, we're wondering why we've waited so long... Californias and everything they represent are simply fab!

Meanwhile we've currently resisted the idea of naming it, but with a number plate ending in ZGY and being children of the seventies it's all too obvious what its name is.

Hi and welcome ....ZiGgY?

As a Bowie obsessive, welcome to you both...and Ziggy of course :)

Thanks all...

Looking good Ziggy, at least you have come up with a name, had mine a couple of months and still not named it.

Welcome Ziggy from another 60's icon....Zebedee Zebra. Have just purchased a tiny Zebedee to hang in the window.

We'll keep a lookout as we too are in London although Zebedee is our only vehicle!

Enjoy.

Hi Dave & Kenna, welcome!
We went through exactly the same thought processes - also living in London, & needing to park the car on the street. The only problem was getting insurance because of the on-street parking (which we did through Adrian Flux). We don't have a second car, but we never used our old car during the week anyway - cycling to work. We've had our van for three years, and find it's great for getting out of London for the weekend on a regular basis, as well as longer trips. Also thought about it for several years, but then decided to just do it, and have not regretted it. No point waiting for retirement...
