My roof will not close

VW Customer care have washed their hands of this because the shoddy workmanship lies with the original repairers who are out of business!!

VW arranged and paid for a cock up repair should they not have some responsibility in the work undertaken, How many more repairs by Westbury are a ticking time bomb,

Your "contract" for the repair was with VW, if their nominated garage messed up VW are responsible.
Get some legal advice, ring the CAB, it may save you an awful lot of money.

Sorry should of said that I only just bought the van privately 2 months ago, so the contract was with the previous owner who bought it from new. I've only put the roof up a few times before it broke. Exhausted all channels to try and get VW to pay or contribute but they are not interested in the slightest. Gutted

I would still get some Legal Advise.
VW allowed the Repair to be transferred between owners so I do not see why the Aftermath of the Repair and associated problems be left with the previous owner. All these repairs came with a warranty. All these repairs were carried out by specialist contractors picked and trained by VW. The owner had no say in who carried out the Repair but put their trust in VW.
This company that has now stopped trading were acting as VW's agents, had been trained by VW using parts and a technique devised and supplied by VW.
Personally I cannot see how VW can deny any liability.
