So I decided to change the screws in the floor for stainless as the old rusty heads were messing with my mind. Its a small inexpensive detail but one that allows me to sleep easier

Looks much nicer ....good job ....;)

I'd be the same. Lost count of the number of odd jobs I've done to my cali that almost seem OCD. The other day I noticed the front VW badge was loose at the top and rattled a little when the engine was on. So I folded up some paper to make a little wedge and taped it under the badge to hold it in place. Feels much better now!

I’m with you, but we all need to keep a look out for those ‘doctors’ arriving in their white coats, to ‘help us’!

Surprised it took you so long TBH. :cheers

Got a bag full here, just waiting for better weather to repaint roof

I've had them since i bought the van just not fitted until last week. Trying to tick the jobs off the list. Its going in for timing belts on monday so that will be a big job off the list.

Mmm. Lots of mad people on here. Including myself. If I’m not driving it or sleeping in it I will be cleaning it. OCD Rules OK.

I use stainless screws for lots of external jobs where the normal plated screws corrode quickly under damp conditions. Not done this on my Cali yet as it’s only 6 months old but it looks a good idea to me.
I changed all the screws for stainless on my house guttering and downpipe brackets. Never a problem then if you need to replace any of the fittings.

Life’s too short to be worrying about screws, but if you are just change them and sleep easy. Some people just need to do stuff to get it out of their heads. Mad or not, who’s to say?
