What a clever vehicle, great engineering, have now done 3ooo miles, France, Belgium and up to Cumbria. We decided to go for the 180hp 4 motion, added a bike rack and tow bar. After some research we bought a Khyam Classic drive away tent with some other odds and sods.

Not entirely happy with the attachment of the tent to the awning, we do have the connector but the opening and closing of the door has chewed a hole in the awning connection part. We have played around with it and kept it tight to prevent this happening but have resorted to not using the connector. Just have to line up very carefully.

Just a couple of questions, any suggestions of better drive away tents?

Secondly, we're considering towing a caravan for longer trips on the continent, any experiences regarding maximum tow weights?

Very happy owner so far.

Regards

Hmm .. great to hear about your lovely adventures in your new Cali Rhodie - but a bit concerned to learn of your difficulties with the Kyham Classic - we've just bought one and set off for two weeks in Italy tomorrow! We have had one practice attaching it to the van and I can see we might have the same issue! We'll try to keep the connection tight as you describe.

Hi IanE, looks as though the problem is solved. look at the beginners post related to the awning.

Thanks Rhodie - yes looks like we've wasted £30 too!
