New member with a old t5

I’ve an old 2.5 pd tdi ransporter manual , I started to convert to it with a 7 speed rs3. Conversion but wireing a nightmare , as nothings compatible , as also planed the t6 dash upgrade with I made a start on too , but with the new age off battery vechicals is it worth carrying on , or go a differnert route?
