Hi from Somerset. Recently brought a 2014 SE. First job - make a sliding fork mount for transporting expensive mtbs in the back.

If you had only one bike, do you think you could put it on the (protected) front seats to make the downstairs bed for the evening?

Apart from a piece of wood and some screws, that’s it. Bikes are rock solid - mine is a large frame and easily fits, though you have to remove the front seat rail stops.
I guess if you removed both wheels, the bike would fit across front seats but I haven’t tried that yet.

Mine’s a large frame. Just had to remove the front seat rail stops.
