Has anyone seen, or taken delivery of, a California with the new canvas?

Eurovans said all MY23 vans should have it (i.e. from around build week 34), but the post below suggests it is only from week 39 builds onwards (which might not have arrived in the UK yet).

The German forums were the original source of the Week 39 implementation of the new fabric. I'm hoping my long delayed Cali Coast has made the cut and will have the new bellows.

I’m pretty sure ours is MY23 and took delivery on 3rd August. How can you tell if it’s got the new canvas? Any obvious tell-tale signs?

My23 does not mean new canvas. The MY typically start around july each year and the new canvas will be installed from wk39, depending on how much stock there is of the 'old' canvas.

I'm curious, how do you know you have MY23?
I’m sure I saw it stated in one of the bits of paperwork with the van, probably the Certificate of Conformity, but as Yossarian has also said, my tenth character in my VIN is a P.

There are two layers, each a different colour.
Thanks. Mine doesn’t have the new canvas then. Although I would imagine a double skinned canvas would have more risk of the outer skin getting trapped in the scissors if you don’t look from the outside when lowering. And possibly harder to tuck the front bit in when trying to close the shutter. That shutter feels like it could be the first thing to break sometimes.

The two layers are bonded so I don't think the risk of trapping the fabric is any greater. I do think that an increase in the shear volume of material might be less forgiving of bedding, toppers, aftermarket mattresses etc.

But no worse than having a isotop in there?
Trouble is if the new bellows still has the open mesh vents we would want an isotop inside the new bellows as well.

Does anyone know if the new canvas will fit a T5 California? and part number?

For those who, like me, are very interested in the new bellows, here is a photo that was posted on Caliboard. Described as a neoprene like material with some stretchiness. That would explain the uprated water repellant properties. Also described as giving a more 'spacious' feel.
