It seems that VW decided to use a new VW Logo for the new models:



I saw this VW Logo history chart in the newspaper:



I didn't even know that VW changed the logo that often.

Good job they changed the first one, it was based on the Nazi flag designed with the shape of the swastika

I am not sure about the new logo, maybe I have to see it in real life. It looks flat.

Maybe it looks better, more modern on a brand new VW California Ocean, 199 HP, 4motion, LED lights, automatic, 2 color T6.1

And I still have one, built in 1946 and now restored and going strong (25 bhp) just like it did when new!

All being well I will be driving our car to Bad Camberg for the 11th Bad Camberger VW Veterans Meeting in June with the camper 'riding shotgun'. A number of other members of the Historic VW Club will also be attending, some driving elderly Volkswagens the 1200 mile round trip.

The car is also on the Historic VW Club stand at the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show later this month.

I bet that an entire designer team worked many, many months on the new logo with many, many meetings with high profile managers to discuss the best option of the logo.

This logo will go into the VW history. Our grand, grand, grand children will look back and wondering what this is all about - and that those old "boxy thingies" were so primitive.
