Hi everyone, we've recently got our new Cali Ocean multivan (T7 or more accurately M7). "We" are Chris & Jules and our little dog Frankie who loves the van already, and every time the door is opened jumps in and is ready to go on the next adventure.

We are busy buying little bits and pieces after our first trip in it, where we took very little to see what we needed. We did end up buying a star awning during the trip which made a huge difference. Excited to be part of the VW community and would love to know your favourite campsites in Cumbria, peak district and the Northumberland coast in particular.

Also would love to know your favourite bits of kit, we have just bought a Ridgemonkey Grilla BBQ without realising it uses a different gas bottle to the one the van runs on (doh!), so now trying to find an adapter, if anyone knows where we can get one please let us know.

Anyway, looking forward to reading all the latest threads and getting to grips with Velma (very popular name I know).

Favourite sites in the High Peak, Castleton CAMC and Hayfield CCC. We’ve stayed a various sites north of Ashbourne, but I can’t really recommend any, although most cater for kids well if that’s one of your needs. Dale Farm is a great site near Birchover. We’ve also been to the Chatsworth caravan site which is okay as a base / visiting Chatsworth estate.

We have a few bits of kit that get well used: Outwell poled/ lightweight windbreak; washable outdoor mat; Ridge Monkey deep pan; a couple of tarps for rain / wind (when not using the sun canopy) Outwell Hillcrest/ Fallcrest set, and Debus canopy, plus awning rail kador kit; Campinggaz Partygrill 400 (takes the 907 bottle);, ramps; lump hammer; a Portapotti !
