I can't believe how cheap this can be.
I've just booked a couple of trips, one in mid July so holiday season, for £90 overnight with a cabin.
Without a cabin it's actually cheaper than Dover to Calais and it knocks a hundred miles off the trip if you're heading south.
Only about a four/five hour crossing though so not much sleep and gets to Dieppe around 5am so not much fun on winter dark nights.

Wow, I have paid about £140 on average for this route and they said that I couldn't book as a van and had to book as a motorhome! They said they would be tightening up, which is why I hadn't returned. Thought this was expensive considering the very poor facilities on board and at the Newhaven port. Needless to say I haven't booked since. Shame as we travel to France about 3-4 times a year every year. I hope this changes as I may still use the route in the future.
Good for you though if you can get the price.
Have just booked up for Easter through Dover at £85 return.
