Nice surprise in mpg.

Try motorway driving at 60mph, imagine your a truck and drive like one, smooth acceleration and deceleration, the brakes are an emergency only feature and watch your mpg go up significantly. what's your rush your on holiday?
That’s more or less how I like to take things. Choosing the right speed to not get in the way of the trucks is also part of the approach.

I find driving like this puts me in a calmer frame of mind too which is one reason I bought my Cali in the first place. Anticipating what’s ahead, reading the contours of the land where I’m driving, and taking time to notice the view.

If I want to drive fast I’m not going to do that in a camper.

My Cal 6.1 / 204 is showing 37 to 41 MPG on dash on a run but agree with post above. There is a lot of different circumstances to consider but it makes you feel good

Always used to check mpg by using full tank to full tank method as my previous vehicles didn’t have the digital readout my 2024 6.1 4 motion 150 bhp Cali has.
Have cross checked readout to old school method and it appears to correlate exactly.
Today’s trip of 290 km of combined city/ country driving gave 6.8 L/ 100 k or 42 mpg.
I’m very impressed by the vehicle overall.

The other factor I neglected to mention is quality of fuel. I always use Shell V-Power diesel. I found over a few tanks worth a difference of around 10% in efficiency between that and regular Shell diesel.

This one is on the high side, but isn't hard to achieve for me, even on daily trips to work. Maybe it gets up to about 7 or more if I have more red lights and a bit of head wind.

This is very common when driving the highways in France on holidays.

Memory 2 is reset every refuelling, so in summer it will be less, in winters it will be more.
But as said before, the real calculated tank to tank from 80000km up to now 210000km is 7.65 liters per 100 km. For you guys this means 36.93mpg. The figure on the display will be a little too positive, but only by 0.5 liter per 100km or less.
So in summer, when on holidays, it rises up to 47 and more mpg, in winters and going to work with the van, it drops to 32mpg.

Me too, mine is a 204 and 4 motion, but getting 36mpg (absolute best) down to 31.5mpg when absolutely fully loaded thats at 70mph on motorway most of the time using ACC again most of the time
Mine is a 204

I don't hang around but I also don't traffic light race. I also don't wait to brake at last minute. Cali is now on 13860 miles and had 1st MOT this week and nothing found. Hoping for VW sale on 'All In' as 3 years ends 1st July. Dealer said they'll do their best, they're pretty good for a change

Be patient, an offer comes on fairly regularly.
I am....... the dealer has promised to do their best; they're a nice bunch tbh

You may be waiting until November, they always do a Black Friday sale. Our 3 years is up end of August, we are away most of Sept & Oct so will have a decision to make whether to buy then or wait until Novembere.

Hi, I’m looking for a similar deal. How is the best way to find when an offer is available.
Vw vans website. Offer is usually twice a year 25% off. Sometimes June or July and November.
