Opening water tank

Any tips on opening the water tank? I have the correct key, I hold the plastic parts so the don't spin, and I am able to lock and unlock (the key stops).... But it is so difficult to grab, so I'm not understanding how to open it.

Push inwards as you turn. The cap is spring loaded.
