Pain in the back

We have just had a wonderful two week holiday in our T4 Wilma, she climbed every mountain and we saw some amazing hidden places in France. The only snag was each morning our backs were wrecked, we tried different sleeping combos, upstairs (really hard) downstairs (hard and hot) one person in each, slightly better but not very convivial. We have looked at the Westie topper from Germany, which at over 300€ seems a a lot of money, and it may be too hot? We thought of trying our air mattress in the bottom, but it will be too fat for the top. We have tried a memory foam mattress on our bed at home and it was way too hot. So advice please!

It's a very personal thing, but like you, suffer lower back pain and hate being hot in bed (memory foam)...
We went for 2x Duvalay 'Freshtec' travel toppers, which fit our Ocean perfectly, not sure about a T4...
They are cool and just the right amount of support on top of the VW comfort, we roll them up for transport.

Upstairs we have swapped the factory mattress for a Truesleep 2" memory foam topper as a mattress and on top of that, we have Duvalay sleeping thingys that have a bult in MF mat aswell.

Downstairs we have the comfortz comfort mattress and our Duvalays.

I still find I can get a stiff back or Shoulder up top but downstairs is very comfy.
