From my research both Green Patio Gas , and Red Propane bottle are both Propane hence work better in winter , so don't think any difference between the 2 bottles ??
Do members have any preference to use either patio gas or Propane ??

But I often wonder why they don't bring out a ISO Butane / propane mix which is far superior in winter below freezing conditions .
Iv used the Small Red primus Power Gas, which is ISO Butane / propane MIX , NEVER ever let you down ..

Have you ever tried shaking a 11Kg gas bottle?

Have you ever tried shaking a 11Kg gas bottle?
11kg ?? Iv not mentioned that size ??
I refer to calor propane 3.9 kg
Or patio gas in 5 kg .
The post is about doing Iso Butane bottle not bottle size ?
Not for inside camper , but when used outside of van , I do lot winter fishing , some places cannot get camper right to edge water , so also use a tent

Good, Gases cannot be mixed in refillable containers without the vessel being flushed and pressure tested prior to refilling, this would make it prohibitively expensive for domestic use.
Mixed gases for domestic use are sold in disposable small volume containers.
If you want mixed gas then look at a cadac dual Pak. Mixed gases separate when stood hence "shaking"

I prefer to cart around a second Campingaz 907 as it serves ad a reserve for the fixed bottle ad well ad running my outside Cadac.
So the question of which gas to use doesn’t arise.

Good idea , exactly what I do at present .
Only problem arises is if weather cold , say below 4 degrees think struggle get heat .
That why looking into iso / butane gas performs excellent in extreme conditions

Interesting I will look into that, makes sense that though :thumb

I agree got single an double Coleman unleaded stoves , very good just bit messing all the pumping up ha ha

The only other alternative is a folding titanium log burner

Or a twig foldable aluminium burner 6 x 6 inch square
Coleman unleaded double verygood , only down side is pan supports , like ice skating ring .
Have hold on tightly to handles , lethal !! :upsidedown

I’ve camped in just below freezing temps and had no issues with gas pressure. The gas cylinder is inside and while the gas cabinet isn’t as warm as the main living area, a fair bit of heat will bleed in there. Your water will freeze before the temp becomes an issue for butane…..

I've got a Primus Tupike stove (which is utterly brilliant btw!) and I've use the Primus bottles in your picture and I've never had any problems even in zero temperatures.

Have you looked at their Tupike cooker, it's bullet proof build and the burner is much better than that in my Cali or my current Sven Hedin. It's a bit pricey at around £240 but you get what you pay for.

I know you've had issues with your hob inside the van so it could help a little.

Will take a look at that , sounds interesting . Also there is a variant of the iso Butane cannister although its ISO BUTANE does not contain same mix as primus , absolute rubbish in any cold weather its called SUNN GAS useless in cold even at 4 degrees , will post pic of it , also the difference in ratios to primus power gas .
Warning do NOT BUY SUN GAS AVOID AT ALL COSTS IN COLD WEATHER .
Primus power Gas only gas that performs 100 % in sub zero temps.

PS thanks for that Barry just looked Primus Tupike stove , its brilliant also like the ribbed pan supports to stop pans skidding !!!!!!!!

I got mine from here, cheapest I could find online https://www.funkyleisure.co.uk/primus-tupike-two-burner-gas-stove-10342-p.asp

Do Not buy iso butane gas called SUNN GAS , BY SUNCAMP USELESS IN COLD WEATHER , AN WASTE MONEY .

Stick to PRIMUS POWER GAS AT ALL COSTS NEVER FAILS IN MINUS CONDITIONS .

Primus power gas ⛽️ the best
50% butane
25 % iso butane
25 % propane

By comparison SUNN GAS
IS 70/30
70% BUTANE
15% ISO BUTANE
15 % PROPANE
They state for cold weather. Total non sense.
You will wait hour just boil enough for mug tea , do not buy sunngas for coutdoors in winter.
