Put the raisins in at the beginning and they plump up nicely1/3 milk + 2/3 water to 1 part oats is my preferred method.
I also found I can do a bowl in the microwave at 1 min each 100w 600w 300w and let it stand for a minute.
Then add sultanas (or raisins), or a spoonful of honey.
