Portable BBQ/fire pit

Hi, has anyone found a strong yet compact BBQ/fire pit for use in places where campfires aren't strictly allowed? Emphasis more on fire than cooking( I know you love your cobs!

This looks good for a wild camp. Not sure if will be allowed on proper campsites.

We have used portablem BBQ with fire logs on proper campsite. It does feel like you are burning money but is safe and gives you a chance to toast some marshmallows

Linda I have been to many events were an old washing machine drum fitted with legs has been used for burning wood
Ideal for group gatherings and keeping warm. Not cooking though

I've only seen them alight how do you cook on them John? Usually a load of people gathered round chucking old
Broken pallets on to keep warm.

We use a circular bbq grid (found in skip at vanfest, hence the picture "skiprats". It is surprising what people throw away) bbq fuel, to cook with, then wood good quality and coal for warmth
